2023-07-27 FY24 MRRC Scan Rate Increase

Dear Users,
As mandated by the federal gov’t and the University, we are required to evaluate our business cost model at minimum of every 2 years. Based on our current volumes and operational expenses, we will need to increase our scan rates from $616 to $647/hr (+5%) effective this July 1st. This increase is needed to support annual salary raises for MRRC faculty/staff, large inflationary costs we have seen on our service agreements/consumables. (e.g., >200% rise in helium prices since May 2022) and reduction of our COVID deficits. As a comparison, the BRIDGE Center’s rate for is $675. This should only impact your budget if you are at 90%+ of your recruitment target. For informational purposes, I have a attached a summary of our paid utilization the last 13 years and corresponding scan rates. The MRRC rates have stayed relatively flat over the years given inflation, hardware upgrades (3 Trios to PRISMA) and loss of revenue from COVID.
