The Department of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh has a strong research program that encompasses both basic and clinical research. We are currently ranked 11th among diagnostic radiology departments with over $10 million in NIH funding. Our research divisions include: MR Research Center, CT/PET Research Facility, the Imaging Research Group, the Imaging Biomarker Lab, and the Molecular Imaging Research Group. Top researchers have recently been recruited to establish a new Optical Imaging Program, which will bring a new dimension to our program. Research is also performed across all eight of our clinical divisions. Investigators at the University of Pittsburgh have the opportunity to collaborate with skilled researchers in a wide variety of fields and have access to state-of-the-art equipment as we are one of the top research Universities in the country. Recruitment efforts in Radiology continue as we are dedicated to foster and expand our research program.
