AUR Vydareny Imaging Interpretation Competition

The UPMC Department of Radiology had a great showing at this year’s Association of University Radiologists (AUR) meeting in Baltimore, Maryland. Sina Houshmand, a second year resident in the Diagnostic Radiology residency program was selected as a presenter at the ACR-AUR Research Scholar Program, and received a $1000 award to attend the Annual Meeting of the AUR. Dr. Ashok Muthukrishnan mentored Dr. Houshmand on his project, entitled “Feasibility of post-therapy quantitative Lu-177-Dotatate SPECT/CT in patients with metastatic neuroendocrine tumor: comparison with clinical outcomes.”

We also revived the tradition of UPMC success in the annual AUR Vydareny imaging interpretation competition. Dr. Justin McCloskey, a third year resident and rising chief resident, assembled a terrific team. The combined UPMC and Allegheny Health Network team achieved third place out of a large field of teams from across the country. It was clear that our residents have an incredible breadth and depth of Radiology knowledge. The competition was a lot of fun, and we are looking forward to AUR 2020 in Philadelphia. Please join us next year!
